NEW FEATURES FOR APP MARKETERS WITH iOS 15

Apple is working hard to improve marketing opportunities in its App Store. After the arrival of the Search Tab Ads in iOS 14.5, the Cupertino-based tech giant has a few functionalities announced during WWDC21. (App) marketers have been waiting for this for a long time. Curious? Read more below..??
IN APP EVENTS
The new update will make it easier for apps and games to promote events. The so-called “In-App Events” will be given a clear place within the overview of the App Store. The In-App Events will soon be visible in your search results, in the charts and under the 'Today' tab. Think of temporary competitions in games, a movie premiere of one streaming service or live stream. This means new opportunities for App Store Optimization (ASO): Apps and games can take advantage of this new feature to increase their visibility.

APP STORE WIDGETS
With iOS 14, Apple already introduced widgets for the home screen. They will expand this function with the new App Store widget in which all featured apps are displayed. That means even more visibility for your app.
But Apple doesn't just put your app on the featured page. You must first meet a number of conditions such as the Human Interface Guidelines. Then you can to fill out a form to apply for a place in the spotlight.
PRODUCT PAGE OPTIMIZATION
The functionality that probably most app marketers are waiting for: Apple finally gives access to more variants of your content in the App Store. Optimize your page by A/B testing your app icon, screenshots and app previews. This way you quickly have an idea of which content best suits your target group.
This functionality can have a major impact on the performance of your app. An example: suppose you have developed an app about Formula 1. You probably want this app to be downloaded by Ferrari fans, but also by fans of Mercedes and other teams.
With custom product pages you can immediately create a design with screenshots of Red Bull cars. Very relevant for Max Verstappen fans. They will now be more inclined to download the app, then you also test screenshots with the cars of Mercedes and Ferrari etc..etc…
CUSTOM PRODUCT PAGES
In addition to A/B testing, it is also possible to create different versions of the product page. Think of complete pages that respond to a USP of your app. With these pages it is possible to change the text, the screenshots and the previews with regard to the current product page. You can also give each product page a unique URL to direct the visitor to the correct webpage.
- These pages must be individually verified by Apple each time
- You can create up to 35 pages per app.
- In App Analytics you can view the views, downloads and CTR per page.

All these functionalities are available 'This Fall' according to Apple. We expect that with the public launch of iOS 15, App Store Connect will also receive an update. So wait a little longer..?
